Shaw Trust Becomes First Organisation to Achieve Supply Chain Partnership Standard

Shaw Trust has made history by becoming the first organisation to achieve the newly launched Supply Chain Partnership Standard, setting an impressive benchmark with an ‘Outstanding’ rating.

The Supply Chain Partnership Standard, officially launched in April 2025, replaces the former Merlin Standard and recognises excellence in supply chain management, collaboration, and social value delivery across sectors. Shaw Trust’s achievement reflects its sector-leading approach to building ethical, effective, and high-performing supply chain partnerships.

Assessment Services Ltd, the awarding body for the new Standard, confirmed Shaw Trust’s Outstanding result following a rigorous assessment process that evaluated partnership working, performance management, and the organisation’s commitment to delivering positive outcomes for individuals and communities.

“This accreditation matters to us because it reflects how we work – in partnership, with purpose, and to consistently high standards. It’s also a recognition of the vital role our partners play in helping us engage local communities and change lives.” Richard Clifton, Chief Commercial Officer, Shaw Trust

Shaw Trust has set the bar high for organisations engaging with the new Standard. Their Outstanding result demonstrates what can be achieved when organisations embed partnership working and accountability at every level,” said Richard Adkins, Systems and Finance Director, Assessment Services Ltd.

The Supply Chain Partnership Standard represents a new era in recognising organisations that prioritise partnership excellence, sustainable practices, and social value. Shaw Trust’s achievement sets a positive example for others seeking to enhance their supply chain impact and demonstrates what is possible when collaboration and accountability are at the core of service delivery.
